How We Use AI

Artificial intelligence is used openly in the work behind this site, under human direction, and this page says exactly how, because trust should not have to be taken on faith.

The short version

AI helps with research, drafting, and production work here. A human directs it, reviews its output line by line, changes what needs changing, verifies it against the real thing, and signs the result. Nothing appears on this site that a named human has not evaluated and does not stand behind.

Every generation says this about a new tool

When photography arrived, painters called it cheating. Spell-check, desktop publishing, and computer-aided design each went through the same season of suspicion. The pattern is old: a new instrument appears, the first reaction is that the work done with it cannot be real work, and then the craft absorbs the instrument and is judged, as always, by the quality of what it produces. This page exists to show the method rather than argue about the tool.

How the work actually runs

  1. Direction. Every project starts with a human decision: what problem we are solving, for whom, and what good looks like.
  2. Production. AI tools assist with research, analysis, drafting, and building, at speed, under that direction.
  3. Evaluation. Output is reviewed critically, line by line. What is weak gets changed or thrown out. What is wrong gets corrected. Nothing passes on the machine's say-so.
  4. Verification. Claims, numbers, and recommendations are checked against real sources and real evidence before they are used.
  5. Signature. The finished work carries a person's name, and that person is accountable for it. If it has Steve Moore's name on it, Steve Moore stands behind every line.

What AI never does here

Your information

Material you share while discussing work is confidential. It is used only for that conversation or project, never published, and never used for anyone else. If you want to know more about how something you shared would be handled, ask and you will get a straight answer. The Privacy page covers what this site itself collects.

Why say all this out loud

Because hiding it would be dishonest, and because the work should be judged the way all work is finally judged: by whether it is good, whether it is true, and whether the person who signed it will answer for it. Ours will.
